「Reminder that I didn't kill myself (yet)」
I sign a message each month and put it here. It lists what I can confirm about my situation on the day I sign. My PGP key signs the text, and that key lives at /pgp.txt. The fingerprint sits further down the page for comparison against any copy you find elsewhere.
Orders that compel silence tend to forbid talking about the order. Anything public about my status would break one, so the date carries the warning. Silence stays legal. A canary past its due date should be treated as absent.
Move the key from /pgp.txt into a file called gumi.asc and import it.
gpg --import gumi.asc
Print the fingerprint and compare it with the one below. A different value points to a different key.
gpg --fingerprint gumi
Save the signed block into canary.txt and run:
gpg --verify canary.txt
A good signature ties the text to the holder of the private key. It says nothing about whether the statements are accurate.
